Closing of the call Restoration and revitalization of monuments

The Project Management Unit from the Ministry of Culture, acting as Programme Operator for RO-CULTURE, financed within EEA Grants 2014 – 2021, announces the closing of the call related to restoration and revitalization of monuments.

The call for proposals was launched on June 5th 2019 until October 7th 2019, but the deadline was extended three times, namely until October 8th, November 11th and last, November 12th, 4 p.m.

The total budget allocated to this call for projects amounted to 16,000,000 Eur and the eligible grant amount per project was between 200,000 Eur and 2,000,000 Eur, representing 80% of the total eligible costs of the project.  

The call for projects was subject to European and national rules on state aid, approved by the Competition Council. The state aid will be awarded as a non-reimbursable financial support.

The eligible applicants for this call for proposals were public cultural institutions (museum, theatre, opera, operetta, philharmonic, library, archive, cultural center, etc.), public authorities, NGOs and SMEs.

By November 12th 16:00 hours, there were 27 applications registered within the electronic management system of the Programme (EMSC), amounting to 206,631,387.58 lei (43,430,941 Euro) as in grant support, and 280,166,849.22 lei (58,887,036 Euro) as in the total eligible project budget. From the submitted applications, 16 projects are developed in partnership with cultural entities from the Donor States (11 from Norway, 4 from Iceland and 1 from Liechtenstein).

The final list of the financed projects will be published following the completion of all evaluation steps: administrative and eligibility, technical and financial, and the selection procedure by the Selection Committee.
